Sycamore High School Choir will participate in a joint clinic with the Western Illinois University Choir on Monday, November 5. This joint clinic will be an excellent opportunity for Sycamore High School choir members to work together with choir members from Western Illinois University and their director, Dr. James Stegall. Drayton Eggleson, Sycamore High School Director, is excited for this opportunity and comments, “We are very excited to have Western Illinois University come and share this experience with our students. It is important for our choir to not only perform for an esteemed university, but to also experience and hear the opportunities that our students can have at the collegiate level. We are honored to have this exchange with Dr. Stegall and his groups.”
Highlights of this clinic include a joined performance by the Sycamore Chamber and Concert Choirs singing the first three movements of Franz Schubert’s Mass in G Major, performances by Dr. James Stegall and the Western Illinois University Singers, and a short clinic given by Dr. Stegall for the SHS Choral Program.
The clinic will be in session on November 5 from 8:15am-10:00am in the High School Auditorium. This free of charge clinic is open to the public to attend and all are invited to stop by and listen as your time allows. For more information regarding the clinic, please contact Choir Director, Drayton Eggleston, via E-mail at dreggles@syc427.org.
