Thank You & Words of Appreciation for Music Boosters Treasurer Peggy Diemer

Peggy Diemer Thank You #1

At our May meeting, we recognized and thanked our Music Boosters Treasurer, Peggy Diemer, for her 6 years of service! She has been one of the hardest working, loyal, and trustworthy parent volunteers for music boosters over the past 6 years.  She was extremely involved in all fundraising activities each year including the Craft Fair, A Note To Remember, and all smaller fundraisers such as the Feed My Starving Children” ticket sales, Portillo’s, Culver’s, Jamrah and other food fundraisers, Spirit Wear sales, and more!  She was often one of the first to arrive and the last to leave at each event!

Peggy took the Treasurer position from manually balancing the  check book and accounts to development of digitizing the accounting, developing more professional reports, and assuring that all tax laws are followed through yearly consultation with an accountant.

In addition to serving as Treasurer, Peggy has been involved as a volunteer as a Band Parent preparing meals and assisting with band events over the past 8 years.

On behalf of Lisa Smith, current Sycamore Music Boosters President; Ken Olson, past-President of the Music Boosters; past and current Music Boosters Officers; Sycamore School District Music Staff; everyone involved in the Music Boosters; and the Sycamore School District Music Programs – we all owe Peggy a great deal of gratitude for her faithful service! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

With great appreciation for her untiring dedication and hard work, Music Boosters President Lisa Smith presented Peggy a Certificate of Appreciation and restaurant gift card (above photo).

Bravo to Peggy Diemer!

9th Annual A Note To Remember Event a Tremendous Success!

The 9th Annual Sycamore Music Boosters “A Note to Remember” event recently held at Blumen Gardens was a huge success.   Guests attended an elegant evening of jazz and classical music including delicious hors d’oeuvres and dessert buffet, and numerous raffle baskets and silent auction items.  The featured musical guests were the Eric Montzka Trio. Eric Montzka, a Sycamore High School alumnus and a 2015 SHS Music Hall of Fame member, treated attendees with his percussive musicianship. His ensemble complete with bassist Larry Kohut and guitarist John Moulder filled Blumen Gardens for a solid hour of smooth sounds of jazz.

The Sycamore High School String Ensemble offered elegant chamber music at the beginning of the event, the Sycamore High School Jazz Choir gave their first performance of the season, and the Sycamore High School Jazz Ensemble performed a variety of great tunes that evening.

The official induction ceremony was held earlier that afternoon in the Sycamore High School Auditorium. Be sure to stop by the new Music Hall of Fame display case across the entrance into the High School Auditorium.

Each year the event grows in popularity with another almost sold-out event this year.  “A Note to Remember” raises support for the Sycamore District Music Programs and is sponsored by the Sycamore Music Boosters.  The Boosters program strives to support every student enrolled in any music program in the district from Kindergarten through post-graduation.
